Do Not Disturb

Disney is changing the, "Do Not Disturb" signs at their resort hotels to, "Room Occupied". Guests will now be notified about the new right-to-enter policy upon checking in as a safety measure.
I like this. I know teens have the "Do Not Disturb" sign posted on their doors or foreheads as an attempt to keep us out. They think it's funny. But you may want to notify them you are changing the policy. If it's good for Disney....
Better yet, inform them as early as possible after "check in".
From the moment your little one enters your life you are committed to safety, from laying them on their backs as infants, buckling them into car seats and using child-proof locks on cabinets. As soon as they can understand, you are teaching, "Don't touch, hot.", "Stay on the sidewalk.", warning them about strangers.
This is just another safety measure you need to communicate as early as possible, "I am committed to your character and will be actively in your life. I have the "right to enter".
